WHERE WE ARE
Villa Podernovo is located south of Siena, in the regional park of the Val di Merse, half-way between the Crete Senesi and the Maremma.
Siena is renowned throughout the world for its Palio horserace and its incredible artistic heritage. Its old town is so unique and beautiful that has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
All the other art towns of Tuscany can be reached in less than 2 hours by car. Our villa is in fact the ideal starting point for a visit to some of the most beautiful and magical places in Tuscany: the stunning Val d'Orcia studded with beautiful small towns like Pienza, Montalcino, and Montepulciano, the wonderful Crete Senesi with the Abbey of Monte Oliveto Maggiore, Rapolano and Petriolo Spas, and the Maremma, with its wild landscapes and a clear blue sea, which is roughly 60Km away.
Just 7km away is the Abbey of San Galgano and the adjacent Hermitage of Montesiepi which preserves the authentic 'Sword in the Stone', both very popular for wedding celebrations. This makes our villa a much sought after wedding venue in Tuscany.
In order to get to the villa it is also possible to book a transfer from Rome/Florence/Siena.
